Dentons announces more than 20 new offices in 2020

The Firm continues to scale with latest announcement of intention to combine with elite law firm in Tanzania

October 5, 2020 – Dentons, the world’s largest law firm, has announced more than 20 new offices in key locations around the world in 2020 to date. Despite a global pandemic and economic crisis, Dentons remains focused on its strategy to scale and innovate to connect clients to talent and opportunities. Together, the firm will have 188 locations across 77 countries around the world.

“Our global strategy remains to connect clients to leading talent in key markets around the globe despite the current unprecedented challenges,” said Elliott Portnoy, Global CEO of Dentons. “We continue to partner with the best firms with whom we are philosophically aligned, who have a deep understanding of their clients and markets and are in and of their communities.”

“Clients around the world are confronted with an accelerated rate of change in the New Dynamic. They want to partner with a firm with the skills, confidence and ability to see opportunities where others see obstacles,” said Joe Andrew, Global Chairman of Dentons. “In an environment where law firms are standing still, contracting or withdrawing from key markets in response to the global pandemic and economic downturn, we are committed to serving our clients now and in the future in more locations than any other law firm.”

In 2020 to date, Dentons has announced a future combination with Salt Lake City-based Durham Jones & Pinegar – which also has offices in Lehi, St. George and Ogden – as part of Project Golden Spike and with East African Law Chambers in Tanzania.

This year, Dentons has launched six combinations:

  • Dentons Bingham Greenebaum and Dentons Cohen & Grigsby, the inaugural member firms with Dentons US as part of Project Golden Spike;
  • Dentons Kensington Swan in New Zealand;
  • Dentons Lee in South Korea;
  • Dentons Jiménez de Aréchaga in Uruguay; and
