Members of AmCham enjoyed the warmth of autumn evening with a glass of good wine and tasty food accompanied by beautiful music at Tashkent International School which hosted a Business Mixer on the 26th of September 2017. The evening began with live music performed by TIS students including “Wild flower” by Park Hyo Shin and “Becoming Dust” by Roy Kim and Jung Joon Yeong. The guitar accompaniment was in perfect harmony with the autumn air.
The official portion of the evening was opened by AmCham President, Hugo Minderhoud, who welcomed all guests, and introduced the new AmCham Uzbekistan Board of Directors who were elected on the 16th of May (amcham.uz/board-of-directors/). He also welcomed new members who attended the event. It’s worth noting that the AmCham family has grown over the summer holidays. New members include: KPMG; Bureau Veritas; Council Law Firm; UzCarlsberg; Prae Legal; Avrora Legal; EDU-Action; Birches Group; Gross Insurance; and VILLETON SAGL.
Director of Tashkent International School (TIS), Myna Anderson, thanked AmCham for their multiyear partnership. “Our greatest asset is not our outstanding curriculum, our beautiful campus, or our brilliant teachers. Our greatest asset is our students, who always impress everyone with their achievements, their ability to think independently and creatively, and their care and attention to the world around them.” At the end of her speech Myna Anderson mentioned new Presidential Decree No PP-3276 dated September 17, 2017, “On the measures on further development of the activities on rendering nongovernmental educational services.” The Decree has had a very positive impact on many aspects of TIS activities.
